I would suggest before since you may need to adjust and shorten the lengths. You could run it either way, but I did it after.

MORE PICS COMING UP TONIGHT!!!

I'm trying to determine how exactly I should aproach my install. I am doing the Big 3, all wiring (new speakers - front d661s, back d661i, and sub D610D2- with 2 amps D7104 and D3600.1), and sound deadening.

Ok, so I had a gallon of Spectumr left, so what the hell? I just dumped the whole thing in and smeared it around...

...and since I am doing the rear seats, and the Max gets hella wind noise from the trunk, I added a layer of Damplifier to the backing of the rear seats...

...and a layer of sludge!

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS:

Had my system hooked up for a little while this afternoon, and HOLY ****!!!!!! THIS CAR IS SEALED!!!!

Wanna hear the funny thing? Vibrations travel so well in the car that there is indeed one place that still rattles...THE HOOD.

Take out the engine so you can fill the engine bay with foam.

2005 = Interior
2005/2006 = Huge Engine Bay dress-up
2006 = Exterior

Yeah, it's not too bad, only when I am eally blasting house music...I would need to add some damplifier to the ceiling. I guess that kinda completley robs me of the idea of a cf hood.

Oh, IT'S GOOD.

At least I think so, I really have yet to hear many of the other audiophile systems here, and I am quite sure they will put me to shame.

There is a product called Hoodliner. I know Dynomat makes that one, supposed to block out engine noise and helps protect the hood from engine heat that causes your paint to fade. It's a pretty thick pad. I currently have it on my max and it made some difference. With all the work I have been putting in lately I haven;t had time to complete my sound deadening project, but since Saturday morning is looking free, maybe I'll post some pics of the little stuff I'm doing to the my Max. Trunk is already done, just have a few spots to brush up on. Doors and dash area is next.

Dan you have pm.

I honestly hold that comp set in high regard....i dont think you'll have much to envy...its spectacular in its own way... and when you move the tweets to the sails glassed on in angle it will be ****...

did you reverse the polarity as i mentioned? Its even recommended on the manual..

Yeah I had no idea the spatial difference would play such an impact. Not to mention I REALLY need to get the step on tuning the HU, particularly the time delay!

Flipping the phase of the woofers, right?

Whoa, my bad x 1-million...I'll edit that right now. Thanks for the compliment.

Anyway, back to the subject, DEADENING'S ALMOST DONE!!! I have to finish adding weatherstripping to the window gaskets and the B-Pillars this week then NO MORE DEADENING!!!! (this year)

I just put the backseats in and yep...it's DAMN quiet! I won't be able to get a full evaluation until I get the passenger seat in, but it seems like all this was worth it.

Excellent work to say the least. I wish I still had the time/patience to do such a thing to my own car. Other then the hood though, I belive there is just 1 thing that you overlooked. I dont think its going to be an immediate problem as of yet, but in time you'll see what I mean.

The rear view mirror. Mine never feel off ( guess I got a strong 1 from the factory ) but it does rattle about 5x worse then anything else in the car. If only I could take the dam think apart and pour some spectrum inside, that would be nice

This is something that happend after having the bumps in for a good period of time (1yr for me) probably also depends on how strong your low end is too.
Anyway, best of luck with the setup. By far 1 of the best sound deading setups ive ever seen If you do decide to try to take care of the rearview, ill be watching.

Use the damplifier on the hood if you still have some. I used about 4 sheets so far and its ALOT quieter than it was before. Stuff is holding up very well, no signs of it coming loose. Im amazed on how well it worked on the hood though, took away alot of vibrations.

Im loving this Damplifier sound deadening!
