Yes, it's possible.

You don't even need the new HU for amp/subs

Well, since your installing a new HU, amp and sub is straightforward installation, run the RCA preouts from your HU to your amp, run power/ground and you're set.

As far as hooking the HU up so that it runs with the Bose speaker amp, I'm not 100% sure on if you need an adapter or not (I'm thinking not), but maybe someone else can chime in on that.

I noticed you're in Jersey, where is Hamilton? I'm by Rutgers Univ., I could help you out if you need it

Replace the speakers. It would be a waste to put all of that and at the end of run them through the bose speakers. On the 5th gen's the impedance is too low on the bose speakers and most (if not all) aftermarket amps would not even run them. There may be an adapter you can buy just to replace the head unit and interface with the bose amps. I suggest reading the stickies at the top.

What you need to do is splice male rca cables into the speaker outputs that go to the bose amps. Then run the rca's to the back of the headunit to the outputs that will give signal to the bose amps, and they will work, I had my system like that for 6 months or so.

And he's the one that mentioned it to me too. I know that you can go Bose ->aftermarket HU/amps, and now I know the reverse is also true, although I should have deduced its true
