Installing new Headunit, what to do about gap?

This is the gap I have.

If I use the bezel that came with the HU, the wood trim does not sit flush.

What should I do?

Pick up a different pocket? Maybe the 4th gen one with the hinged door?

OR...

How much extra plastic is at the bottom of the pocket? if you drill new holes in the metal mounting brackets to raise the pocket, will there be a gap under the pocket instead?

I ran into the same problem. What is slid a piece of cardboard between there wrapped in some extra leather i had from a car bra. All you need is something to cover say a peice of cardboard and slide it into the slot from the back. I was concerned with this too, i didn't want CD's falling between there, as well as an ungly looking gap. I can take pictures if you need them.

I have the Schoshe kit from Sounddomain.
If I flip it over I have a gap at the bottom. I am going to use some black weather stripping to cover the gap.

It's been a long day. It took me a very long time to install the door speakers and to run to new wires in the car.

Pics will come when I am 100% finished.

Sounds nice dude.

Here''s the project im working on. I have a 95 GLE with Bose and i want to add a sub. I got a 760watt pioneer and a 12inch infinity.

Here's my delimma. Do i order a PAC SNI-35 and get a Crossover in order to convert BOSE to RCA or do i just get a PAC AOEM-NIS2 ? If i get the SNI, that hooks up right in the trunk...but how exactly do i tap those speaker wires? If i get the AOEM, does that plug into the actual headunit or does it also reside in the trunk and tap the speaker wires?

Thanks for the help, i'd start a new thread but i cant yet.

Haha, I jus put some weather stripping in. I looks gay but you can only see it if you are up close.

I have read that I am not suppose to mount the amp to metal. So will have to mount it to wood. I am planning to put the amp on the rear deck.

I've been at circuit city for a few years now. What I usually do is stick the soft side of velcro betweent he pocket and radio, but you don't need to do that. Go get yourself a Metra 997417 Nissan kit, available at any circuit city...18 bux.
