Anyone have a Viper 771XV alarm?

I am considering having one of these installed in my new Max. When I went down to my local stereo shop yesterday they were trying to steer me away from it, saying it had really bad range on the two-way remote. Anyone who has a Viper 771XV had problems with the range on the remote, or any other trouble with it? I'd like to go with the 791, but its a bit too much for me. Thanks in advance.

I went with the 791 and would recommend the upgrade. I wish I had more feedback on the 771, but most of the people I know just have the 791.

Theyre bullsh!ttin about the range. I sell and install the Python versions of both at work, and I honestly dont see the point of 2-way without the screen on the remote. Anything you get by Viper or DEI, you will be happy with, because its great qualiy product. If it were me Id get the 791xv for 2-way, or if you really cant spend the money, get the 560xv. But keep in mind, they have a lifetime warranty, so spending an extra hundred bucks might mean a lot now, but look at the long term before you purchase as well.
Good luck
Kevin

I just bit the bullet and purchased a 791. Top Ramen for lunch the rest of the month.

Good choice. Top Ramen ain't bad considering the reward. See if you can pick up a 555u or 556u to add the remote start. Only $25ish. Remote start is awesome. Imagine on those bitter cold days in WA, your car is nice and comfy when you get in. Worth every penny.
