Over Heating Amp
if the amp is hooked up wrong, that'll do it. like if you changed the loads on the amp by adding speakers or subs or whatever that can do it. Like if the lowest your amp is rated at is 4 ohms and you hooked up something wrong and the load is 2 ohms, the increased power draw that that creates will overheat it. hope this helped

it sounds exactly thats happening to mine as well. i had dual alpine type r's hooked upat 4ohms and now that i only have 1 sub, my amp is cutting in and out
