6th Gen Remote starters

Has any one had a remote starter installed on a 6th gen max. If so how much was it to get installed? Did you have to give up a key to get? What type do you recommend? I have an 04 sl model. Thanks in advance.

There are a bunch of people in the 6th gen forum that have from what I have read. You may want to ask there if noone replies here, hopefully they won't move you back. From what i remembered is yes you loss a key, around 500-700 for the high end Cliffrod or Viper two way lcd alarm remote start model, you may be able to get it cheaper but that's what I remember as far as pricing. Everyone suggest any dei models (which is the viper or clifford). Good luck planning to do the same to mine in the near future.

Yes Ive done a few. Yes you will sacrifice a key.

DEI products are definately the preferred choice.

Don, too bad you don't live closer. I've read alot of good things about your installs and I would have loved to have you do mine when the time came. Do you have any advise on how to choose an installer for a security/remote start system?

Thank you for the kind words.

I would just ask around people that have visited local shops. Based on reputation, not price would get my business. BestBuy/Circuit City could be a hit or miss situation with the work...
