Bose officially sucks in my book

I have never been very happy with Bose.

My 3rd gen had Bose and none of the four speakers/amps worked right. Either one or the other was screwed up. I replaced the entire thing with all aftermarket stuff almost three years ago.

Now, the cd player in my 2001 Infiniti QX4 with Bose has gone to crap. The 6 disk in-dash player is jammed. It looks like I am going to have to take the player out and take it apart. Not only is a disk stuck, it makes a terrible clack-clack-clack sound for about a minute trying to load every time you turn the car on or turn the radio on. Not to mention there are six CDs buried in there I can't listen to.

Of course, the warranty has expired, so going to the dealership would probably cost me more than a new aftermarket stereo. Mostly I am just venting

Im pretty happy with my BOSE in my '99. No issues... yet. After doing the sound deadening it improved the speaker quality 1000x. Once it craps out though, ill for sure replace it with something different.

Their home theater speakers suck equally as much. Same battle in HT. It's all because of the Bose marketing machine. For the average ear, for the person who wants to be able to turn it on, and not have to tweak it, it sounds good. What is the saying..."No highs, no lows, must be Bose"?

idk i felt that the bose speakers in my 96 maxima were awesome, UNTIL some chick heard her favorite song on the radio and blasted it, leading to my passenger side door speaker blowing. Replaced both door speakers with 3" rockford speakers mainly for the highs since i had 2 12's in my car and didnt really need the lows comin out the speakers. To this day i havent heard a better sounding sound system from inside the car. With the crisp highs and clear lows. Hooray for Rockford and their production of one of the smallest speakers i ever heard of.

If it's got no highs and it got no lows, there's a decent chance, you're listening to Bose.

I know Bose sucks, but I am pretty sure I we are only keeping this rig a few more years and my wife drives it 90 percent of the time and she is not much of an audiophile. It's definitely not worth it for me to spend several hundred on some aftermarket stuff. The thing that pisses me off is that it has been well cared for, but the damn changer just jammed itself shuffling between discs.
