ipod alternator whine fix

in the past, i've been able to almost elminate the alternator whine from my ipod connection by grounding the cables and using a ground loop isolator. still, i have a faint whine between 2-3K rpms and the volume up. i believe i've fixed it now. instead of using the output of the ipod from the headphone jack, use the output from the connector port on the bottom. this is a line level out, and my alternator whine is gone. as an added bonus, i can mute the output of the ipod headphone jack which may increase ipod battery life (?).

i bought the nyko stereo link for ipod. etoys seemed to have the cheapest price. link
