using audio cables instead of hi/lo input
using audio cables instead of hi/lo input
i want to but i dont know where to put the cables...
yeah its probably a dumb question but can anyone tell me
i have a clarion DXZ615, it has 3 sets of audio cables in the back...one pair has red wires and are set apart from the other two sets which have white wires...but im guessing that none of them are outputs...because i tried every diffrent combination i could, plugging my two RCA cables that i ran from my amp. and no sub go.
anyways if you want to skip all my garble, then my wuestion is; how do i use the RCA inputs instead of the hi/lo input i spliced in? do i need a line level converter? i want to stay away from splicing wires because i want to do this the best way possible but dont know how
THANKS -matt

The only thing I can possibly think of is checking to make sure that the Sub-output is turned on. Some decks had this feature, some didn't. I can't find anything about the deck.
If all else fails, a LOC or a new deck would be the way to go.

thanks alot for the reply man
i had that thought that it might be a feature that needed to be set by the deck but the manual on clarion.com doesnt say a thing about it :\
would it sound that much better using RCA's rather than the hi/lo input? ive been trying to do this all day and the benefeits might not be as much as i thought...

man! since changing the old HU out with this Clarion and running RCA's instead of hi lo, it sounds twice as good. it used to have no punch and no volume and now its sooo much more clear even in the bass.
i got the RCA's working...when you posted that it might be a HU setting i looked at the specs on a sale ad online, and it said it has 2 non-fader bass outputs.
so i went and turned non-fader bass off and on and now it works wether it's off or on...odd. and all of the RCA's in the back are outputs...so wierd how it didnt work before...
anyhoow...thanks alot WOO. peace
