Eclipse Headunit with Bose Faceplate DONE

After an extensive amount work which I am sure Don will chime in since he did all of it, this project is a minor tweak away from being done. Great props to Don for doing this.

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, and yes, you can see the eclipse screen through the bose faceplate.

There is a small tweak to be done in the coming week hopefully, I'll post finished pics than.

Looks familiar. Nice job. Nice option for security purposes. I scrapped this idea and went with the GXE kit.

He prob only puts the face on while the car is parked. I personally love this idea. Great job. I often worry about leaving my face on while at school. I usually take it with me. This is a great idea. I may look into this further. Did you guys keep a work log, or willing to share pics with me? I would love to see how to do it.

Well, with MP3 cds (thanks Don), no need to switch cds much. I might go with a changer in the future.

i like how you can still see the display through the bose faceplate. do you have a remote and does it work through the bose faceplate? that'd be sweet. i'm curious why you chose to carpet it, though.

Yes theres a remote. Yes it works through the factory screen.

Carpeting is due to the factory screen being held by Velcro. The large carpeted area makes it easier to adhere.

Looks good. I bought a spare bose radio a year ago to do this, but gave up after figuring out how much work it would be.

The lengths people go to secure their system...

I guess the Eclipse security feature wasnt enough protection?
(The abbreviation is slipping my mind right now)

instead of carpet maybe you could use some kind of magnet system to hold the face on???

i am looking into doing this in my '99. having trouble finding a spare face for the bose unit. anyone have one, preferably not working so i can get it cheap? pm me if so.
