do i need a capacitor?
I just got

JBL GTO 601.1 mono amp. 580W @ 2 ohm.
what do you guys think? do i need a capacitor? i'm a noob, your inputs are welcome.
thanks,

I got Q-Logic sealed/ported enclosure, and getting 4 gauge wires...
can't wait to get everything set up in the trunk...
If my stock battery don't do the work, i'll do battery upgrade...
thanks again, guys!

I'd say no. Depending on how much you get your yellow top for, a comparable www.kinetikaudio.com battery would work well also.

btw, you guys are talking about replacing the stock battery, not getting extra battery in the trunk, right?? just making sure...
yea just replace the one up front, and add a 0 Gauge ground. When you replace the battery follow the negative cable and look to see how its grounded. You will want to replace it immediatly after seeing it
. Usually its all corroded and green.

I vote yes. I recommend 1f/500watts rms. Not only gives your system more juice but also functions as a voltage stiffener. I'd also upgrade the big 3 (esp. ground). Don't waste your money on a yellow top unless you wanna drain your system ALL the way down and slow charge the battery back up. Spend it on an upgrading the alternator.

a capacitor that you can easily find is a waste of money in ANY system, for a capacitor to really make a difference it would have to be closer to 50 farads than the 1/2 or one farad ones they sell. it will not help make it any cleaner or anything, here is why the capacitor only holds a charge momentarily, but when the voltage starts to drop it immediately discharges to oppose the change in voltage and bass notes in a song are longer than a capacitor takes to discharge so it helps for an instant then youre back where you started.
