Remote starter help

Hey guys when I bought my car it came with a remote starter allready installed by the previous owner I assume. Anyway I cant seem to get the POS to work. I have all the paperwork with on how to program it which I can but the problem that I am having is that after I program it it works fine for no longer than a hour and then nothing . I am not sure if this is the right name of the remote starter but on the transmitter it has "AST" with 4 buttons on it. It looks like a tiny flip phone to me. I am thinking that the transmitter is bad but not for sure.

Help

there should be a valet switch under the dash, maybe on the kick panel. if there is check to see if its set to the off position. basically its a switch to shut off the remote starter, ie when a mechanic is under the hood he doesnt become ground beef.

Will do. Do all remote starters have a valet switch?

if its working when you reprogram it, and then stops working after an hour or so, then its not your valet switch...probably a brain that went bad...possibly check to make sure your ground is still secure, but thats about all that it could be. i woudl put money on a brain...it keeps dumping the programming, and without the programming the R/S is just outputting all the defults, so its not working for ya.
