my subwoofer enclosure is too big!!

Hi,

I just got Q-Logic type 2 sealed box. its interior volume is 1 cu.ft.
I have Rockford T110D4 sub and RF recommends 0.75 cu.ft. for sealed box.

now....can I just ignore 0.25 cu.ft. difference? If not, what's the best way to cut down 0.25 cu.ft?

thanks!

i wouldn't worry too much about it. you'll just get a deeper bass extension from the larger box (and little less power handling)

if you really want, i'd try to put some kind of baffle inside the box to reduce interior volume. or...you can return the box and get a smaller one

Not to nit pick but I think you mean cubic feet, not square feet.

And there is nothing to worry about if it is a bit too big.

if you want to be on point
then you take away the woofe r displacement and add a length of 2x4 for bracing and keep adding until you meet your req'd airspace.

For that small of a difference I doubt youll have a problem and I wouldnt worry about it too much .

Thanks guys for your advises.
according to most of you, I don't think I have to worry about it.

I measured the box, and it was about 1.1 cu.ft without the sub.
with the sub, the interior volume should be around 0.9 cu.ft.

cool, didn't know that 10" displaces that much. my 15 RLp displaces .2 as well.

Sub box too big

add fiberglass batting to reduce the interior volume.

i wouldnt worry about that small of a difference. Personally i like my bass a little deeper, which should be what you get with a bigger box.
