I was given a Starmate for Christmas.....I went to put this thing in my car and there is always a hint of static. I the SAT and TER meters are constantly changing....Questions is...do I want the sat or the ter to be the highest? If I mount the antenna on the dash, the sat is higher...it I put on windshield, left corner, the ter is higher. IDEAS??? That dark space on the windshield behind the rearview must be an antenna or something, cause the sat goes dead when you put the ant on it.

I mounted the radio on the compartment below the tape deck. I never open that space, so i put the radio there.
