Good luck with that, I don't know of any company that would refund a speaker that was damaged in that way.

I was almost sure that there was a decent gap big enongh to fit an amp. between the seat back and actual opening to the trunk...

Geez, you weren't lying!! Once I realized I still had a gap inthe front i pushed once more and there went the space i thought a amp would fit.

I just set mine on the side of the box in the little space that is left. I plan to build an amp rack and put it actually in the back part of the trunk off to the side...

how does it sound in the cabin with that box? sorta looks as though it would block a lot of sound from entering the cabin.

Well I ordered it online through aafes.com (military site) so i"ll just take it back to the Bx on base. I've returned many audio things w/o a problem, but if they won't for some reason take it this time then I'm just out $80 no big deal.

Hey jsmith, is that a custom LED in your trunk or just a LED bulb replacement? I did my interior courtesy lights wit the 6LED and 9LED bulbs and its so much brighter like your trunk.

Hey Boone, where did you put your amp? I had mine mounted to the back of the seat but this box fits so snug, there's no room back there!!
(I'll post pics in the next couple of days)
I mounted my amp to the back of it. There was just enough clearance...barely.

I'll be happy to post one up tomorrow. However, it does look like there is a slight difference in the amount of space left behind your box and the amount of space left behind mine. I'll be able to show you better than I can tell you once I get a pic taken.

Well I bought them like 5 mons ago for $80 a piece. It was painful for about 1min but then I was like oh well, jumped on line and ordered another. She's dead broke wit a child and I'm not bad off so I told her not to sweat it. She has enough to worry about already.

No that amp he has isn't small at all, I have the same one.... lol. Maybe his box just isn't pushed back all the way. I know if I slide mine forwad slightly I have room but it doesn't sit flush in the front. It still doesn't move though. I'd like to see pix too.

Yeah, I pushed it out a bit and it just didn't look right to me...I want it too fit in there how it is supposed to. Amps will just have to go somewhere else!!

As promised, here are the pics with the amp mounted to the back of the box with it pushed all the way back. I still have to clean up the wiring a little but you get the idea.

no overheating issues? that's barely any space between the back of the seat and the amp.

None at all. It hasn't cut out on me one time. Not even on long (4 - 5 hour) summer trips.

Are the top coners on the front of the box sitting back flush?

That looks like a great setup. Looks clean. I wouldn't mount my amp there though, it's just too close to carpeting. I'd mount the amps on the side like jsmithsole said.

You mean you're going to have someone fiberglass them somewhere, right?

Yup, if you look at the first pic you can see where it is right against the frame for the opening. The only thing I can figure is that maybe the foam rubber I have the box sitting on to keep it from working it's way out is making some type of difference.

I thought about moving it to the side opposite where I have the cap mounted. I initially put it in it's current location for easy tuning. However, if I did move it, removing the box to put stuff in the trunk when I need the extra space would be a lot easier. I have no idea how to build the amp rack to do this though. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Man those boxes look sick!! They sealed pretty good? I assume this is coming from a guy who hand builds them, if so then the quality should be great. Might have to get me a little setup.
