bose swapping question...

jus wondering... possible to put a 5th gen max bose h/u in a 96?.... 96 is already equipped with the bose system jus wanted to change the head unit

... WELL IT IS.... srry about caps.. but think abou ***.. does the amount of fabrication to the dash exceed the result...? .. if yes...
then shure fiberglass /hack away dash and make it fit... if NO
then go on ebay find a bose headunit... or buy my 99 unit... if u wish...

99 hu will also require some sort of modification to fit on a 96... oh btw its not my car.. .i have a 01 gle equipped with the bose... its my friends 96 max he wants the 5th gen bose h.u

well he wants to... but not cuz of the looks or anything... but cuz his cd player doesn't work so if he's going to get another head unit he wanted to check if the 5th gen fits/works...

The 99 will not require any work. It is direct plug and play and straight bolt up.

ok so a 99 bose h.u will fit in a 96 maxima equipped with bose... with out any modification...

If he's getting a new one, why not use one from an 03-05 G35/350Z with Bose. Those have MP3 capability and work great. You could also do what I did and use a 2005 Pathfinder HU and just modify the bracket so that it sits back 1/2" and it looks and works awesome. Both are 6CD in-dash changers and wire up just fine.
