Well, since you are in Tampa...what's your budget? Because honestly that stuff is up there with Pyle and Rockwood, if you have heard of those (i.e., basically garbage). After you let us know a budget, we can recommend you some brands and speakers to get, and possibly even a certain person to buy them from, this mythical guy named Don who lurks around here (Pearl96Max), and I can install them if youd like.

So...budget? What year is your max? What else do you currently have as far as audio, if anything?

On a side note, there is a CFMA (Central FL Maxima Assn) Meet this Saturday in Tampa.

Come on by if you'd like.

I wouldn't consider atomic and earthquake to be remotely close to pyle or rockwood they are definately alot better than that. Earthquake a bit better, but atomic ALOT better. Their top of the line subs are definately beasts.

Earthquake..eh used to be decent, they were a year behind and used HiFonics boards. Atomic...well The PowerAcoustik FUBR is a beastly sub, but I wouldnt dare own one.

I guess I mean they look insane, and they seem to have quite a bit of potential as far as high output. I still don't think the Atomics are down to the level of the FUBRs

As far as Earthquake, your right, the new stuff sucks compared to the 1/2 way decent old stuff.

alright thank you for all the help. I do not currently own a maxima. Im in the market for a 97-99 5 spd maxima. I was to build a system and do db drag. I can spend 1500 on subs and amp. I know people that can install everything. Wire the car and install everything. What speakers and amp would you say to use?
