help with remote start

i just got the clifford matrix 3.5 transponder remote start alarm installed.

is there anyway to set it up to reach from a further distance, it works only from like 50' i find that very weird. i thought this thing could work further, i think my oem remote works further. the antennas are set up in the middle of my windshield.

Do you have your windshield tinted? That was the problem with mine. So i tucked it in between the headliner and the roof infront of the sunroof. Works real good now, i would say 150' feet.
Thanks

It could be the placement of the antenna. If you park your car facing forward and you are pointing your remote at the rear of the car that sometimes decreases the distance. The other thing is obstructions between you and your car. Most alarm companies give an exagerrated distance for the distance the system will work. the numbers are normally for when there is nothing between you and the car. The fine print tells you that distance can be decreased for a variety reasons. That includes radio waves, walls, cb radios, cellphones, other alarm systems in the area, etc. It should work from more than 50 feet though. I believe the remote from the factory works off of the window grid. I have a 95 that I bought and my factory remote had little range. I opened the trunk and saw that the transmitter in the trunk was unplugged. Try to make sure the clifford antenna is plugged into the brain.

u should be able to get more than 50' i have the python 881xp with the antennae mounted on the middle of the windshiel where the headliner meets the windshield, and i get at least 200 yards. Just like kdejoour stated, everything between ur car and you is an obstruction.

There are no "boosters".

If the antenna was not plugged in, Nothing would work at all.

I would take it back to the shop you purchased it from and have them fix it. You should get ALOT more distance then your getting. I am however hoping that you did purchase this from a shop and not one of the FLeabay knockoffs going around.....
