Don't give up!!
I went for a year and a half with no steering wheel controls because a "professional" installer said it wasn't impossible. Well now I have them back (and oh how I missed them!!), thanks to someone who knows what they were doing...I wish I was that guy and could help you but I know it took the installer 1/2 the time of the install just to get that to work...the answer is out there somewhere
This question is a little off topic but Im a going to do a similar setup in my car with the Jensen VM9020TS. I don't have a dremel and cant really justify buying one since this will be the only time I may need it. Is there someone out there that is selling the metra kit with the pocket already cut out? Any help would be appreciated.
Metra Kits are very resonable, a dremel tool will most likely cost you the same, I would go for the metra kit, and soon from what i can tell.....they are going to come out with a double din kit as well.

The SWI is only for steering controls to the radio. Trip has nothing to do with it and No adaptor is needed to make them work, just a simple grounding of a wire. IS this what shops are telling people now?
