My turn.... screen installed! PICS

ok i installed my new farenheit lcd. heres a pic.... the quality on it is actually pretty good.... i used hot glue to hold it in place but i guess i didnt use enough cuz its starting to fall down from place. i gotta reapply it. also, when i rev the engine or even have the car running, i get these wavy lines in the screen. i dont know if its the screen or the dvd player, jvc 5100. could it be because i just hooked the black and red to the cig lighter? should i have grounded it seperately, or just not used the cig light at all? anyway heres the pic....

o yea aladdin

Why didn't you just tap into the power and ground off the headunit?

Good Job. Compared to mine, I think without the bezel is better. ( it doesn't look as aftermerket.) We should do a poll.

If changing the wiring helped I'd assume it lies somewhere in the wiring. There is a voltage drop somewhere possibly but most likely its because of the RPMS fluctuation which would mean its picking up noise from the electrical system, maybe try moving the wires to a different location but leave them connected the way they are.

I have some of those scratches too Looks nice though. I've had some people say some matched SEM paint would do it, but something tells me it may look better to find it in a junkyard and replace, as I couldn't imagine being able to fix those scratches to look perfect.....

Screen looks nice. I would start by checking and rechecking grounds too....maybe beefem up or make sure you have a good groundpoint. Are you getting alternator whine? Is it grounded real tight?
