Power cable splice?

I had a 2 channel amp under my seat powering my component speakers and I had my car detailed and the idiots got the amp soaked and it got short circuited. I bought a new amp to replace which I though were be a perfect match to swap out however its larger than the other amp and the current 4 gauge power cable is now about 3-4 inches too short to do a direct swap. Somebody else installed my amp for me and I am not very technically inclined to go through and install a new cable. Is it possible for me to somehow buy something to splice a 4" piece of power cable to the end of the current cable, possible with some sort of connector or something? If so where can I buy this sort of thing?

you can get a AGU fuse holder like that one and connect your wires that way. you sure there's no more slack on the line?

Actually yes there was enough slack to get it installed. However I thought it would be a direct swap but unfortunately I am not getting any sound from the speakers. I have a feeling this has something to do with the crossovers but I can't even remember where they were installed.

This is a cheaper solution. Its about $4-$5. The only thing u need to do is cover it with tape or shrink tube to avoid any ground contact. I had to do the same on my project.

4 guage coupler would be my suggestion too. Although, if you are planning on going back to that detailer, that AGU fuse holder that Gordon suggested would be ideal
