Swap Shop/Flea Market question....

A couple months ago (forgive me) I went to the swap shop and bought some 6 and a half's for the max, the speakers are okay, I forgot the brand but there around 250 watts each.....

I'm no car audio expert but I'm thinking maybe I should have waited and gotten a better brand...I mean I can get a whole system for 300 bucks from the swap shop.

So....the swap shop/flea market sells fake **** and trashy cheap **** right?

^^^^^

This is really what I wanted to know.....

Anyways, I've saved some money and I'm ready to get a amp and a box for my 2 10's that I got online...my budget for the amp isn't high (max 150 bucks) since I want a little bang but not anything to shake the windows....

What amp should I get that's around 800 to 1000 watts? and what box should I get to fit my tens? thanks.

Theres a swap-shop style thing going down at the Fairgrounds this weekend here. I was forced to install two Lanzar 10s ported off a Profile "1000w" amp today, in an RX8 which had everything else factory. I wanted to shoot myself when I heard the output. See sig quote by Rich, it about sums it up, minus the hitting 130db (sig didnt show up....it says I could fart louder)

+1. On the commercial they had imitation amps that looked like Xplod's but didn't have any writing or logos on em whatsoever.

LOL.....

Yeah, I took the speakers back and re-installed the the older ones I had lying around, I'm ready to building a system pretty soon and I'll stay away from the swap shop in the future....

I'll be sticking around the audio section on maxima.org to get some ideas and to basically learn about car audio in general, thanks for the quick responses, sorry I took so long to respond, I need to stop doing that since it's kinda disrespectful.

I remember back in the early 90's my friend bougth a good sized amp from the flea market. I advised him not to do it, but he thought it was a "good deal". We later opened up the amp and found that the circuit board only went halfway through the amp, if that. Pretty darn funny, especially since I had told him not to do it.
