What's your favorite brand of sub?

i have owned and abused a variety of subs. first set was 2 15" mtx thunderpro's in a huge box in my jeep, at 16 i had the loudest stereo in highschool but that was ten years ago. Next setup was two 12" soundstream spl's in a plexiglass box pushed by a chrome soundstream amp, can't remember what type, that shti was loud to, that was in a 1982 buick pos. i have had three different gens of the solobaric. those definatly bang. 4 15'' cerwin vega, vega series subs in a wall in the back of a suburban. that crap hit so hard it would make the cd player skip, cd player was a clarion pro audio, just so you know. and now i have 2 15" eclipse titanuim subs, and i think my skyveiw is about to explode.

Image Dynamics IDQ v.1--Definitely the best sounding sub I've ownd, but not quiet loud enough. Not bad for my first setup. Had them paired with an HCCA 5s comp set (basically a 2 ohm version of the super highend A/D/S comp set) run off an arc 2050 (back when arc just came out) Had 2 of em sealed with 300 watts each.
Audiomobile Mass 2012--For those who don't Know, 5 years ago this was the king of SQL. 21mm of xmax in a time when most subs had 14. This sub started the excursion wars and the internet audio company boom. If I had to keep a sub for historic purposes, it would have been this one. Completely changed the market. Eventually this sub was slain by the IDmax, then the Brahma, and later on the w7. I ported the badboy and was blown away. This sub was manufactured by TC Sounds.
Elemental Designs e12a. Great sub. Got it used for like 200 bux. Sounded good ported tuned to 32hz...until it was stolen....This sub was also manufactured by TC sounds.
Avalanche 15--This sub slams. With 27mm of xmax, this bad boy has some crazy displacement....SEALED. I think my head would explode if i ported it. Oh yeah and its only getting 400 watts(itll take 1000 atleast). I listen to 95% rock, and this thing is pretty accurate on those kick drums. I won't be buying a new sub any time soon.
So which is the best? Does it really matter? They all put a smile on my face. They all were considered top tier subs in their hayday. They all sound better than yours

I've owned a variety of subs over the years. I would have to say my 2 favorite so far were the Memphis M-Class, and RF Punch Z.
M-Class for it's versatility
Punch Z, for the performance/cost factor
Though I'm going to be trying out the SS RL-p here soon. I should hopefully be ordering it next week, but it all depends upon when I get my money.

I like the Sq of aluminum coned drivers like the Alumapro Alchemy MX/RX's, Seas Lotus subs..
But still to this day Rainbow Vanadiums have been pure magic and got nasty loud with adequate power-pretty efficient....Some day I'll have to cop a deuce of them..

I will let one pic do the explaining...broke this at a maxima meet in south florida...E55AMG2 can verify that because he took the pic. 1 of the bars that holds the trunk up came out due to metal bending and cannot be fixed unless I find a good welder or do trunk struts. kpr10is tried to fix it to no avail. so right now I have a trunk that tries to decapitate people.

Thats awesome. As far as the bar you can't bend it back into place? I had pulled my trunk bars out to do the mod with the struts, didn't work out well so I put them back and was able to bend them back in, though they were really hard to get back in place. If you come up to NJ I'll put them back for you lol

Oh and I finally figured out why for over 2yrs of sub abuse my mirror didnt snap off. The base was a bit loose, so the mirror itself didnt take that bad of a beating. The rattle there irritated me to hell though, leading me to inject so much clear silicone into the dam thing. It shut it up just perfectly.
Needless to say the next time I took the car for a spin the mirror snapped right off, looked exactly like yours. Took less then 2 min too. All I could do was laugh.

Bottom line though, IMO I dont think the max is a very good SPL type car to say the least. Big ported setups belong in SUV's, large trucks, Vans, Wagons, ect...
A plain SQ setup would work best in these cars. Not to mention saving room as well.

Yeah I think that explains why my mirror broke...I installed this new mirror and its not as tight and I have not had problem since. I wish I could wrap my bars but I can't get the 2nd bar back on because the metal is softer than downy.

if your **** wasn't in florida i don't mind swapping boxes for a week.
i was gonna switch back to this sn for sh*ts and giggles.
