Yeah only issue is that rattle will not go away. On the bright side, just that little bit of give will save the mirror. Like I said, over 2yrs of abuse and mine wasnt fazed until I siliconed the hell out of it causing all the vibration to reach the mirror. Atleast its quiet now

Dont know how you turned those bars of yours into jello though.

Just do it and find out. Worst comes to worst, a few things start falling apart and your ears hurt and you go back to sealed. The one thing I personally like about sealed is the response above 50hz.

One things id say is try porting your setup to 32-35hz. Its still gonna get low enough, but you'll get that impact that hits you in the chest that mine doesnt do as well since its tuned to 28 ish. Although it does still get low and stupid loud. Just be sure to set you sub sonic and you'll be fine. OH, and try to get some port area going, much more then by bottle neck'd port, Say 30" + should do fine.

Have fun ( Hey if you have time to make a shoe box setup, you can build your own, lol )

it is not the actual bar but the piece that held the bar into place is what bent playing some paul wall-grillz. I am tuned to 35hz and I agree with the impact but its stupid loud at times hence I am going sealed with this 15.

Seems diamond, ID and rainbow's are getting good responces...... it's funny though all u hear about are RF, mtx, audiobahn's etc... and really noone hear has spoken of them. I've learned that the best brands are harder to find than the one's the retailer's have..... props to the org

my Opinion on subs is

1) TREO Competition Series Extreme (very very loud )
2) IDMAX
3) JL Audio 12W7

in this order.

i havent seen anyone talk about TREO subs, does anyone in here have them or heard of TREO subs??

I ran the Chameleon CSX62 set quite a few years ago. Back then, the tweet wasn't as bright as I would have liked, but I think i'd really enjoy it now. Not deep midbass, but snappy. Midrange is OK. Cool things about it are that it's avaliable in 2 ohm versions and the coaxial mounting. Decent comps. No experience with the Arc comp sets. Rainbow makes a lot of lines so thats a tough comparison. They're pretty well respected so I'm sure som eof their higher lines would blow the ID away. If you are aiming the tweets relatively on axis (had mine in kicks coaxially mounted) and can get the 2 ohm version for around 200, I think that's a great deal. If you don't need 2 ohm drivers and arent' interested in coaxial mounting, or wanna spend more, there's plenty of other options...arc and Rainbow being some of them. IMO Image Dynamics subs, compression horn drivers, and processors (if you're OK with big analog units) are the strongpoints of Image Dynamics, along with customer service and support of the industry/competition. The old IDQ 8's were pretty nice too if you can find em. The should be releasing another 8" midbass driver shortly.

Just how good do they ID's sound? I know they like a small enclosure, does that not kill the lows? I prefer deep bass rather than punchy bass, the punchy type seems like it distorts with the ten's anyway.. My bro used to have some jl w3 12's in a sealed box and they sounded awesome with any type music... But that was when I had not heard anything else... However i find myself comparing every system to those.. I still have not heard any that were as "clean" sounding as those..... Could the ID's compare with them or would they blow them away?

I like my Soundsplinter RL-i10. Sounds good, and has decent output.

Will be moving up to an ARC Series 12" pretty soon .

I ALWAYS put my sub in a bigger than spec box because most companies give you recommendations that are on the small side to prevent ignorant users from blowing the sub mechanically. however, smaller/better companies usually give decent specs. moreover, they pick these enclosure sizes to compensate for the typical users lack of a solid frontstage. in laymans terms= sub plays loud in higher frequencies at the cost of low frequency extension.

I also like a box bigger than spec. For the IDMAX I like 1.5-1.6 or if you care to, IB. I've heard the 12w3 (v1) an dthink all the ID subs can rival or surpass that. Must ask though, what was the rest of his system like? Strong midbass ( like good 6.5 drivers in dampened doors or 8's up front with power) will make the subbass sound better, blend better with the rest of the system.

I know it was in a jeep grand cherokee with the infinity sound package.... Very nice sounding for a factory option.. that could have had somethin to do with it... Also the suv's have a lot more room for the sound wave's to travel, maybe that was it
