yea i told my dad that but he didn't listen, guess i got some work cut out for me after my 2 finals....one of which i'm late for
i gotta figure otu whats going on with the flatline, gotta figure out why my fosgate keeps turning off, i think its cause the ground is loose, hopefully the flatline just has a wire that unhooked while i was putting it in...maybe
ok good news and bad news, found a setting in the cd player called BBE, the manual didn't tell me anything about any of the abreviations, so i assume it stands for bass boost engine, well turned it on to the 3rd setting and shabaaaam!!!!! bass galore!!!!!!
now for the bad news.....its bass in EVERY speaker, so i gotta buy some bass blockers for all my speakers, and i still haven't figured out whats causing my RF amp to keep cutting out when the music is turned up, usually does when there is a lotta bass

Sorry but BBE is not bass boost enhancer. http://www.bbesound.com/about_us.asp It's a processor. I suggest you don't use that to compensate for the bass response or lack off from the sub. Solve the problem from the root and then go from there.
whoops sorry about the double post
i don't know what i did but it is very loud now, so the sub problem is fixed, now i've got the problem with my fosgate amp just cutting out at random, it only started this once we blew one of the speakers (just can't have ANY low mids come from them or it sounds bad) so i dunno what the deal is

well i'm fixin to replace the speakers, probably order them tomorrow along with some bass blockers, i'm hoping that fixes the problem, when it cuts out sometimes the protect light comes on, what does that mean?
It means it's going into protection mode. Double check ALL of your wiring to and from the amp. Something is not right. Bass blockers will not help you as far as the amp cutting out. Don't you have a HPF on your head unit? Turn that on.l
i think somewhere there should be HPF on it, the sales guy said it did but i can't seem to find it. well i didn't think the bass blockers would, i figured the blown speakers were causing it to cut out, maybe it was causing it to go into protection mode
or maybe its just cause fosgate is retarted and their stuff sucks.....oh wait did i say that??
but seriously, thats not the problem
the fosgate amp is powering my back speakers, when we were tuning them, the speakers blew, now the amp cuts on and off when the volume is up loud, so we're replacing the speakers and hope thats the problem

cause its pointless to have all the sound in just the front and then a sub, why even put rear speakers in if you can't hear them because of the bass, the 6.5's in the front blast away as is, so i wanted a balanced sound so i amped the 6x9's to balance the sound, ya know a surround sound setup, its not cool to just have 2 speakers beside you playing and a sub.....it sounds like a mono system instead of stereo
plus the front is getting all the power they need from the head unit

lol well i am planning on amping the front, cause for one it'll sound better than the cdplayer powering it. but i like the sound coming from all angles (including from behind) i guess its just a personal preference......but right now i'm just fighting to get the da*n fosgate amp to quit cutting out so the rear speakers will actually work, lol, the wires are all fine and i've noticed on songs with no bass they never cut off, but when the sub starts hitting really hard it cuts off, think because the amp is mounted on top of the box is causing it to shake and go into protection mode??
building a solid frontstage is paramount IMO for car audio. putting my rainbows in with deadening has blended my substage tremendously. however, puttin the 15" in a sealed box has helped also.
You're not listening to us. If you have the proper staging in the front stage rear speakers are TOTALLY unnecessary. A good soild component set up front with a well balanced sub will sound great. You should have a 400.2 on the fronts and stock head unit on the rear speakers or ditch them altogether. You absolutely do not need "surround" sound in a car. This is not a home theater we're playing with. The only reason you would need it is if you were putting a 5.1 or up system in your car.
Ditch the rears, get some SOLID comps up front and amp them. Your tune will change completely. Don's car has his 3 way setup up front and even sitting in the back seat there is absolutely no need for a rear speaker.

alright at least suggest me a good set of components for the front, i'll through some power on them and see how i like it
the main reason i have it setup the way i do is for the treble in the front and most of the voices and mids coming from the rear with the sub, i just liked the way it sounds

how are the gains on the fosgate?
well i found the problem with why my fosgate amp kept turning itself off. when we blew the speaker we only blew the cone of it. After that we never messed with the settings on the amp, so i went back there today and messed around and put it where nothing below 400 was going to them and turned the gain down by 1/4, they don't cut out anymore, obviously when the cone started moving it was going into speaker protect mode
ok so i posted a few pages back that i was getting the jensen bp212, which is 2 12" subs in a bandpass box. i know its a crappy system, but im satisfied easliy. i got the subs and they sounded good when my friend hooked them up to his amp(i duno what it is). now i have about 150-200 dollar budget and im lookin for an amp to power these things. they are 400 watts rms 4ohm. what do you guys think would be the best amp?
I have a Rockford Fosgate punch 400s I can sell you, it would power them good, bridged out=200wattsrmsx2 @4ohm.. It's in great shape and has not been used very much.. For 150-200 dollars your not going to get a very good amp unless you buy something used IMO. Better to buy something good, than waste your $$ on a crappy amp.

I sent don a pm) but i don't know if he can get one either..
