you should replace that RF with another arc amp

when i was running the RF and the Arc, the RF stood out like a sore thumb, so i opted for the 2100-xxk

You guys are reminding me that I'm looking down the dark tunnel of a VERY long and late night.
But I will not sleep till it's done, because tomorrow all I have to do is hand it in, meet with a group, and take an exam, and then get ridiculously sh!tfaced afterwards.

ok seriously i have a question though, my flatline is louder than my jl but i can't help but think its not as loud as it should be, hang on and i'll get a diagram of how i wired it

i have it going for the mono A to the positive on one voice coil, around to the other voice coils positive, and then the negative to the negative on one voice coil then around to the other negative, did i do something wrong here?

How long have you had the sub? You have to give it a little time to break in.

recheck the wiring man, sounds like it's wired to 8 ohms. what are the specs of that amp? i barely have my gains 1/4 and my sub gets loud as hell. it's also dvc 4.

no i don't think so? i have it coming of the mono A (there is a mono B, dunno whats the diff though) and i have the positive going to one voice coil and then to the positive on the other voice coil, and same thing for the negatives, that should be 2ohms should it not be?

450x1 @4 ohms, 750x1 @2 ohms, & 900x1 @1 ohms

yea its plugged to the SW on the cd player, the boost on the cd player goes up to +15, thats where i have it, and still i have to turn the music up to the point you can hear just my music from like miles away to make the bass booooom, i dunno what i did wrong, should i try and swap it from mono A to mono B, or like take the positive from mono A and negative from mono B, or will that even work....never seen a mono block amp with connections like a 2channel amp

No idea. Just throwing ideas out there. My first guess would be checking the voice coil wiring. Then the sub preout. What about the sub control on the HU?

i got it hooked up to the Suboutputs on the cd player, the cdplayer has the sub as loud as it'll go, and then as i said i have the wires going from the mono A to the sub to be a 2ohm setup, i wonder if one of the wires came loose when i put it in, i did feel a slight tug when i was sliding it in.....think that could cause it, like it the positives aren't connected to the other voicecoil?

could be. you might have one coil that's active. the other vc will 'fight' the linear movement and you will get crap output.

take a DMM and measure the resistance of the wires coming out of the box. or take the sub out and have a look.

if you have one coil powered, the other coil will move back and forth in the magnetic field, which will create a current itself, and will act like a magnet (iirc, read this stuff long ago). so it will "fight" the movement of the entire VC/former assembly.

anyhow, just take the sub out and see if the wires are still good.

thats odd but makes sense, so if one of the wires came lose i could be having that problem?? but if it is connected i shouldn't have this problem, correct?? like if i have it wired to 2ohms, the other voicecoil shouldn't be fighting the assembly

Ported flatline must be a monster.

Take the sub out of the box, re-check the wires, make sure nothing came loose.

You also may just be becoming deaf after hearing it

Another thing, remember amps get HOT especially RF amps, please get all that wiring that is going underneath the amps out to the sides before it melts and you have a bigger headache on your hands IE power wire melting and grounding out to your amp's chassis
