Just curious guys. As you all know on the 5.5 gens there's a trip computer on the left and on the right there's a temp, mpg etc. A friend of mine said I'd lose that if I switched HU's? Any truth to that or was he mistaken?

you ground the brown wire and everything comes back. steering wheel controls can be used with a pac swi-x.

I'm not doing the install but I'll keep that mind os if it doesn't work then I'll know what to do to fix it

edit: I'm not too concerned about the radio controls on the wheel, I tend to use the remote that comes with the HU's.

Then tell whoever is doing the install to ground the said brown/white wire in the steering wheel control harness. Unless you want to rip apart your dash twice as much as necessary.

Which headunit are you getting? if it's one of the brands that PAC has listed for steering wheel controls... that's a bonus.
I have it on my eclipse and it's nice to have the controls once you get used to them from having the stock radio.

Pac SWI-PS is the exact model number for the steering wheel controls if you decide to get'em.
