Crutchfield says no 2Din for 5th Gen ??!!!

I dont get it... I read about all you guys putting a Double Din on ur 5th Maximas.... SO i went to Crutchfield.com and started using the live Chat to get the models that would fit my Maxima...

This is what the rep told me:

Chad Welcome to Crutchfield chat. My name is Chad. How may I help you today?

You i need help finding a Double Din for my 2000 Maxima
You and I need a Double Din with MP3 only.... No need for DVD, Navi or steering control, just a quality HU 2Din with MP3 player

Chad Ok, did your Maxima come with the Bose system?

You yep

Chad Unfortunately, your vehicle is not set up to accommodate a double DIN receiver.

Chad Are you aware of that?

You nope. The Bose I have right now is 2Din

Chad Yeah. The necessary brackets are not present with the factory radio.

Chad Therefore, there would be no way to actually mount the receiver.

You really? i did not know that

So how u guys placed a Double din in the 5th Gen with Bose???!!!

Not true. I have double-din in mine and used the stock brackets off the BOSE HU. Those brackets were a b!tch to get off, but they work fine. Use the GXE dash kit and you're all set.

Take it apart, and fix it yourself....Probably a bad solder joint, and the parts are fine.

GXE or scosche, whichever is better for your wallet. With Scosche, you WILL have to struggle, possibly modify it. GXE pops right in, but is expensive.
