Aftermarket Alarm

My car was broken into tonight, I ran outside and caught the guy sitting in my front seat tampering with the ignition. No broken windows or damaged keyholes so I'm not sure exactly how he opened the door. At work my car is parked in a bad section. I think just about everyone I work with has had at least one incident like mine.

But anyways, I'm interested in getting an aftermarket alarm. I've been told about the pressure sensitive types but I'm wondering what other options I have and what would be a good setup.

I would prefer DEI. They make the viper 791xv which is a remote start and 2 wayt security. So when your alarm goes of your pager along with your car will start beeping, the car being louder of course. Also the alarm will display if they are at a door the trunk or the hood.I am also a professional installer let me know if your interested. I worked for www.safeandsoundct.com if you want to check them out. DEI also makes ones that is just a alarm, and 2way pager. I think the 791xv roughly goes for about ~200 $ let me know if your interested

What is a reasonable installed price for the 791xv? (Assuming I get all the frills, remote start, windows up/down, etc.) I doubt I want to install it myself, since it seems pretty complex for all the added features.

i would also recommend you look into the Clifford Matrix series. i'm going to be installing i think the 3.5RS or something like that, which provides you with remote start and two way just like the Viper one mentioned above. most people at work have it since we sell it and also sell installation. if you're interested in pricing (to give you an idea), it's $578 with installation if i remember correctly...
good luck!

Clifford is the best, I've had the Clifford G5 for about 2 months and haven't gotten my car broken into. And the alarm is loud as hell, you can also choose whether or not to install the proximity sensors
