subwoofers like me not :sadpace:
Can I do anything with this sub? Upon inspection I notice the negative wire inside the sub is fried. This happened with my last sub in another car with another amp. WTF
I even thought this one would work better since the wire was integrated with the waffle. Where the last one became loose and I tried to solder it, later realizing the cone eventually separated from the cone
but how could i even solder this one since it's like 5 fine wires along the waffle??? and the burn is close to the cone FTL
This has been my 4th sub. I first had 2-12 pioneers which killed my old buick's altenator... So I sold one. well the other broke when books fell into it FTL. So I duct taped it and sold it FTW.
last speaker was a 10" Jensen.
this one was a 10" pioneer...
Now I'm looking at Kicker CompVR 05CVR104 unless someone can recommend a fix or better speaker. I don't need a DVC, but they are seeming to become standard. any quality 4 ohm 10" around 300W RMS less than $100. (hopefully closer to $50)

Buying a better quality sub would yield great results for the long haul.
DVC or SVC doesnt matter. There is no sound or performance difference. It goes by what your amp needs to see.
BTW..speakers cant hurt alternators.

i mentioned DVC not necessary b/c my amp can only run at 4 ohms bridged.

my 1000w system has been in two (120k+ mi) vehicles over the course of 6 years and has yet to kill an alternator. However my friends blazer's factory alternator went at 90k and he doesn't even have a wokring stereo.

so it's possibly not my fault? even tho i often overheated the amp stressing it until the safety feature cut it off... i figured always having dimmed lights in and out with the stereo on caused the alternator to overwork and eventually die
either way, i'm just looking for a quality 10 w/o paying too much....
