I did the install on the CD8454 and the CDA-9835, the shop did the CD8455. As stated earlier, this is the way it goes ..... ...

It has a nice display doesn't it. The function over form guys are gonna cringe at this, but I'm curious to know if you can dim the blue or change the green?

The display is great. I think it has the best display of any HU currently out. The clearish buttons can be changed between blue, green, orange, red, and like 500 shades in between. The other buttons can change to either green or orange.

I too like function over form. I also like things to be simple, especially while driving.
