1) Could be running the amp at too low of an impedance and going into protect 2) Find a better grounding point 3) Figure out the voltage your amp is seeing at the time it shuts down 4) Larger gauge wire never hurt

Even so, I'd invest in some lower gauge wire.

leaves you room for system upgrades if that situation may arise.

I just ran some 4 gauge to the trunk.....lotion is your friend. I had to lube the damn wire up to get it through the firewall gromment. After that, it zipped right through like butt'a.

I thought it would be....I just used what I had handy! Now someone tell me how they got a 4 gauge and speaker wire down the same side and still clip the trim pieces back on?!?!?

I have just the 4 gauge and the things are tight!

I've got 0 gauge, speaker wire and a 4 channel RCA running down the same side.

Previously, I had 0 gauge, 3 separate pairs of RCA's, remote turn on, speaker wire and the power/ground/RCA from my backup camera running down the drivers side.

It CAN be done.

just keep working at it, everything will clip back in place. i have a 4 gauge, two sets of RCA's, and speaker wire down the driver side.

It's not that bad at all. The trick is straddling the wires inbetween the clips. The door jamb trim is huge and hollow.

Woah! This runs a risk of noise entering thru the system. A good rule of thumb is to run the power wires on the same side of the battery, and run the signal wires on the opposite side. Power and signal wires don't get along when they are running in the same path hand in hand.

This is a common myth.

Yeah, that is why I said it's a risk. But, it sucks when you spend hours installing a good system in your car and you end up with noise filtering thru your system trying to figure where it's coming from. Just as long you use good quality cable and wiring, you get better sheilding. Plus, running wire on opposite sides avoids bulkiness of trying to fit all of that thick wiring underneath the door sill panels.

I'm running 1/0AWG Stinger Expert...the only way I got the rear cover back on was with the help of my trusty dremel.

When you have a good 2 layers of deadening and liquid deadening to contend with, yes, there is a need to dremel.

Stay away from Vaseline... it's a petroleum products and some of the interior stuff will slowly degrade (engine-side stuff is typically built for petroleum resistance).

Use copious amounts of Astro-Glide (please, no gay comments here)... it's water-based, but stays slick long enough to slide it in the hole (OK, you can make some comments on that one).
