Oh, and you'd wanna put the 8" midbass in the door and whatever midrange you choose in the kicks.

Ohhh all three in the kicks huh. Now you're talking. It's doable too, and would sound great!

Or was that a typo?

You do not want to put 8's in the kicks put those in the doors and put a 5 1/4 in the kicks with the tweet. 8's in a kick say bye bye to space for your feet.

Side note Don do the Germs come in a 7" or 8" components? or Just a 7" or 8" driver?

driver?
It is possible to do and 8, dome mid and tweet in the kicks...just gotta trim a lil metal and do a lil glassing, thats all I didn't get the impression he was going there. Definately 8 in the door in that case.

I'd LOVE to get rid of the 8 in my door and find a way to get it in the kicks

Is that a single driver or is it Componets? I don't want to part with my Germaniums. I love the biamping of the crossover. I will have to ponder this.

in my experience, that doesn't work well, sonicaly(sp?) speaking. i built kicks to hold all three drivers of a morel SR-8.3 component set. the problem still remained after adjusting many parameters w/a pioneer DEQ P-9 processor. the image was out in front of me but under the front bumper. not good.
so, i made "conehead" shaped pods and mounted them to my a-pillars. the diference in stage height was emperically night and day!
just my .02

there you go! what i did was replace the dome mid w/a 6" illusion audio driver. it has the entire motor assembly on the front so i glued my tweets to the neodymium magnet.
i've no idea what audio shops would charge you to do the work but imagine it wouldn't be cheap.

Mmmmm making me miss my Nd8s now.

Nope wouldnt be cheap, but also not that difficult to do. Processing/tuning would certainly be the more difficult task.
