Batcap GD?

For those looking, you already know what it is.

Just throwing a quick post up here to see if there is any actual interest before going into detail.

I suppose the first question i would have...is...at what point would it be good to invest in one of these? Is it worth getting one of these and an optima battery?

I looked thinking it was something to do with Batman....shame it isn't

But as with the previous poster, i'd like to know when it's necessary aswell.

I'm definately interested. Depends on prices, but I've been looking at them for some time, kinda waiting for the right deal to come along. Would have money as of July 18th or so.

Considerin two 800's for under the hood (but prolly wouldn't drop the money for it to be honest) and either a 400 or supercap (I think) 100 in the back for shure....

Any idea how much of a deal the group deal would be?

Folks these things have gotten stellar reviews from people well respected in the industry. Does what a cap is "supposed" to do, and does it well.

Two 800's under the hood will blow away an optima. I couldn't believe how small these things are. One of the ID competitors at SVR had some of em, forget which one. Two fit where one battery otherwise would with ease.

Anyones electrical system could benefit from one of these, its not all about the "super wattage" systems.

With that being said, the smallest/cheapest is the 300...figuring around $95. Which I may add is BELOW actual dealer cost. Even below dealer cost for quantities of 6-99 of them.

I have seen a Batcap crank a 93 honda Dx. Not that a civic is anything that great, but the thing is about the size of your hand.

so basically you're saying that this replaces the battery...or would it be better to combine this with a battery?

i'd definately be interested in this. Been planning on one since my alternator started to go bad. I think more people could benifit from the 400. Funny thing is the 800's are just as cheap as the 400's on ebay....

Its kind of hard to explain it all but...I know. This will save me a whole lotta typing

http://www.betteraudio.com/geolemon/newmain/battcapalt/

The batcap is more or less between the cap & battery.

As for charging, Don do they come charged? if not do we need a charger or just hook it up to the setup & let the alternator take care of it?

What is strange about their diagrams is that I have my ground setup like figure 3. Why is that only "OK"?

No one runs ground from their amps to the battery unless there's a second battery in the trunk.

Yeah I don't like their diagrams. I would either install a capacitor near the batt and let the batt and the capacitor share the same ground. My amp is not drawing that much power like some peoples so I just need a 1-3Farad Capacitor to smooth out the electrical system when motors draw power.

I currently have a stock alternator for the 97, with a optima red top.
I am looking into getting a amp that pulls anywhere from 150-300 amps . Would one of these batcaps in the trunk allow me to do that without blowing up my stock alternator and/or replacing it for a expensive HO one.
If so i am definetly down for one of these when you get a GD up.

My power will probably look like Fig 2 and my Ground will look like Fig 3, except amps and batcap will each have a line all going to the same bolt.
