Amp noise

I have a Pyramid 400w amp installed and four Kenwood KFC-1789ie speakers aswell. However, ever since I installed my amp I get a buzzing noise that gets worse as RPM's rise or fall. It's almost as if I have a turbo lol. I don't really mind it but my passengers are starting to complain. I have it getting power from the battery...just like the manual said. Can I do anything? Thanks guys.

I got the amp from a friend brand new for 30 bucks. I'm not gona look for a better one when I get one that cheap. But thanks. I'll try another ground location. Where do you think I should ground it? I previously had it grounded to the top of the trunk (right under the window) and now I have it to the base of the trunk near the spare. Where else can I try?

as i'm not too sure about the 4th gens, i can't tell you the best grounds. try to get a spot that's really clean and seems like it's the "most metal" (if that means anything to you)...

use some sandpaper and clean the spot first for even more contact.

Okay...I sanded the current ground and it's completely metal. Maybe the amp just blows. Oh well...30 bucks...guess the passengers can suffer lol. If anyone has any more ideas please offer them. Thank you guys.

In case it's not obvious, make sure your ground wire is AT LEAST the same thickness as your power wire. Also, I believe the shorter the ground wire, the better, provided you are grounding to a reasonably thick piece of sheet metal.

thats not a very good ground rockford.. Try the seat belt bolt underneath the seats in the backmake sure you sanded it down very good. Also if you have cheap rcas they may be interfering with the power wire. If all else fails buy a ground loop isolator to make hte noise less audible

Thanks for the help guys. I'll play with all of your suggestions. My ground wire is about 3ft and it's grounded to the trunk (which is all metal) and is the same exact wire as my power. But yeah, I'll play with your suggestions. Thanks guys.
