Stock Subwoofer Dead on 2000 Max SE

I have searched the archives and can't find anything on this so I'll ask....my stock subwoofer on my 2000 Max SE isn't working. I did a few tests, there is power (12V) and the ground is good to the subwoofer, there is also a good signal from the head unit for the amp on/off. But I can't tell if there is an audio signal coming from the amp or not because when I disconnect the connector from the sub I think it turns off the sub amp. Has anybody had this problem (dead sub) and how did you solve it? I want my bass back!

What is the impedance on the sub? Try running that sub to another source to see if it works.

Found The Problem

I found the problem, thanks to Stardust & Icewake. You guys were right, it was solder joints gone bad. The subwoofer has its own amplifier built right into the sub, I took it out of the car and took it completely apart and couldn't find any problems with the amp. But there is an attached board beside the subwoofer, (seems like an afterthought on Nissan's part) that has a relay on it. This relay turns on the sub amp when the radio is turned on. There are 5 solder points for the relay and all 5 points had come loose, probable due to the vibration from the subwoofer itself. These solder points are tiny and it took a strong magnifying glass (actually a jewelers loop) to see the breaks. So I resoldered them and re-installed the unit and presto, it works!

Good job on the fix, but I would have just used that as an excuse for a new sub stage And a Front stage for that matter, to compliment the new sub stage
