Replaced 03 Bose Headunit and sound isn't that great

Hey guys, I replaced the stock Bose headunit in my 2003SE with a Pioneer P80 running everything stock except the Pac Roem adapter or however it's spelt. It sounds fine but honestly the Bose sounded better. i know bose sends out special signals so the radio and amp can communicate giving better sound (or so they say) but it doesnt matter considering the pos doesnt play cd's

I dont really wanna make a time or money investment in this so getting a whole new speaker/amp is out of the question...any ideas? thanks for your help in advance and wishin eveyrbody a great and happy 4th

1. Bolded area is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard.

2. Your system should sound BETTER than before. Something was not done right. How is it wired?

You don't need an LOC.

You need to redo your HU's wiring using Metra's 70-7551. Plug the preout (RCA) outs from your HU into the RCA's going into the Metra harness.

So this is the adapter I need or do I need another?i am really satisfied with bose speakers and I dont want subs so this would be good.I was told that you had to change the speakers if you install an aftermarket headunit. Is that true or not?

Not true. If you want to replace your Bose head unit with an aftermarket one this is the Metra wiring harness you need. There is another non-plug-and-play way of doing it, but the harness is ~$15, so why not.

edit: of course just like any head unit you will also need a standard antenna adapter.
