Since the Eclipse Ipod interface doesnt work too well with the AVN5500. Is there an Ipod interface that has a video out for the "Music"? I have an Ipod Video, but it only video outs the Movies and Images. I know I would have to control everything from the Ipod but it would be better if I could look at it from the screen on the AVN rather than the small Ipod screen.

 

Not that I know of. IIRC Pioneer is working on one. Only Ipod Video Ive ever hooked up is in slickricks car (AVH-P6600DVD flip out) and he just used a male minijack to yellow/red/white rca cable plugged into his brain, so he puts movies/music videos on and watches em on the flip out, but has to pick the Ipod up from the cupholder to control whats going on.

 

Anyone else?

 

Thats the only thing I could think of - if the Ipod outputs video, just use an aux A/V input.

 

Not that I know of either.... in the Apple OS on the ipod video out is only enabled while playing movies/slideshows/pictures... There are some home theater devices which have their own own Apple OS "like" interface on a TV and it just talks to the iPod with the GPIO interface. iPodlinux is coming along, I have used it, they might have video out working on the 5g ipods soon so keep an eye on that www.ipodlinux.org. I bought my ipod thinking i could use its video out in my car but nooooo.... Thats why I have switched to building a car computer... you can still use the ipod as a harddrive that way if you want.
