How to take out rear speakers in 98 max non bose
#2
Remove the rear seat first. 2 clips under the seat that you pull to loosen. Remove lower seat. Then remove the 2 10mm bolts holding the outside of the upper seat, open the pass-through, remove the plastic trim piece with the leather and remove the 10mm bolts inside there. Lift the seat assembly up, and remove. Then, go into the trunk with some needle-noses, and compress the orange tabs and push them up through their holes. Get the 2 accessable from the cabin. Lift the rear deck enough to slide a ratchet and 8mm socket in. remove the 4 bolts/screws holding each speaker on. Go into the trunk, and remove the amplifier assembly from the speaker. 3 screws and 2 wires and that is done. Lift the speaker from inside the car, and voila done.
Hope that helped a bit.

Well youre going to have to get a jigsaw and cut the hole, and then worry about actually mounting them.... Rear speakers arent that effective either way, why not just stick with some 6.5's?

It's really not hard to take out the back seat. It may seem like a big task when described, but it is reallly simple. It only takes about 5 minutes or less once you figure out what you are doing.
