amps for Eclipse SW9102
amps for Eclipse SW9102
I have two Eclipse SW9102 subs, and i wanna make sure i do all this right. What kind of amp should i get, i mean, how many channels, and what would be the best way to hook em up. I dont have too much experience with DVC subs. I was thinkin about running two amps, i guess 2 channels, or would it be better to run one big 4 channel. I need to make sure i get it all matched up with the right ohms, 4 i think. Thanks for any advice.
Assuming your voice coils are 4ohm, you can wire each sub down to 2ohm, then both of them down to 1ohm, collectively.
Basically you want a mono amp that can handle:
1. One channel @1ohm
2. Two channels bridged to 1ohm.

yeah, they're 4ohm voice coils, so how would it work with a DVC though? if i got a two channel amp, would i run, for example, L+ and R- two one voice coil and R+ and L- to the other?. that would run it down to 1ohm right?
And with a 1 channel amp would i just run one voice coil or split it to the two? I havent really messed with a stereo system since around 99, everything i had was SVC. Thanks for the help.

OK here's what you do to get a 1 ohm load:
Wire both +'s on one sub together, both -'s on one sub together now that sub is at 2 ohms, do the same to the other speaker. Now you have only 2 + and -'s and wire thsoe the same way to produce a 1 ohm load.
EDIT: Nilesh beat me to it
