replaced bose with all alpine, install w/ pics

So I finally saved up some money and replaced the bose system, I took some pics of my new toy, the alpine IVA-W200, got type-r components in front, and type s in back, powered by an alpine v-power!, along with an alpine type-r 12" sub

here are some pics, it took about 6 hours for the install

Car in pieces

Outside picture!

Bose wiress XXX

The trunk, with the seat inside because it started raining for a second, but stopped minutes later

Back seat crossovers and speakers amp

It sounds sick, very loud and clear! No complaints here! was little worried about the alpine not having much subwoofer/speaker equalizer control, but it sounds perfect so doesn't matter anymore!

Needs a few zip ties to clean things up, but looks good, congrats on the DIY.

Because that's the Bose AMP harness, n00b.

On that note, is there a universal Bose color code? or is everyone stuck to tapping/testing each wire?

Why bother? get a harness 10 bucks and no testing necessary.

Component set = tweeters replaced too.

Check out the Rainbow SLC group deal if you want clear speakers.

Looks like a nice job, but nothing like advertising your new equpiment by doing the install in a parking lot.

yeah, it was the only avaible place, and open time in my scheadule, + i dont live there

What did you mount the sub box down with?
I don't know what its called but you attach one strip to box and other to ground(with the sticky side) and inbetween it attaches, and you can disconnect it as well

So far I have been getting nothing but praised by my friends, telling me how clear and loud it sounds. Then again I never had Rainbow SLC's either. I went with all alpine because I got my whole system with a discount

All the wires are hidden, nothing looks messy anymore either, just waiting for my video bypass to come in, then I will also take out the bose sub(so i will have a hole for more bass to come through) and maybe dynomat the trunk.

Hey man, check out my homepage. I have almost the same setup. I'll have that same HU in about 3 weeks too. To answer your question, I love my all Alpine setup. All of my friends are constantally trying to get something better for the price, but they havent done it in 2 years now.

That HU with an Alpine PXA-H701 processor would be a very nice setup.

according to Alpine's website, the H701 isn't integrated with the w200 , you'd have to get the controller... im gonna double check with my Alpine rep at work tho, im not sure why alpine wouldnt make it work with it

I have a PXA-H701 with my IVA-W200. Works fine. (Toslink FTMFW - CDs sound AMAZING (to me)). Look in the manual for the IVA-W200, there is a section devoted to processor control. =)

The ONLY thing you can't do (AFAIK) is the automatic time correction using a microphone. No idea why though, as the mic input is on the unit, not the controller. *shrug* You can still do manual time correction, but you have to measure and do the math yourself. Not a big deal.
