Aftermarket Navi

I know most of you 2004-2007 owners didn't get the Nissan Navi option, like me, so I was wondering if you knew of any good aftermarket Navis? Maybe one with the bluetooth, and one that doesn't have outdated maps. Thanks.

I installed a full blown mini pc which runs my NAV,MP3's,DVD's, Bluetooth, wireless internet and more all controlled via touchscreen display for about $1500, I wouldn't want it any other way. I had an Acura TL with Nav and I knew I wanted to go the PC route before buying my Max so I picked up the base. My advice is to visit www.mp3car.com and check out the forum section. I picked up all my parts and advice from that site. They have all the custom frontends (software to control your pc) you could possibly want and its all free. I did all the work myself in about a day.

Is there anyway to add aftermarket NAV to an 04 SE without changing the HU? I dont have a problem changing the HU but I do not want to lose my steering wheel controls, and and the aftermarket steering wheel control products are bad in my experiences.

Yes but more trouble than its worth IMO..Theres tons of benefits to doing it rather than not.

What experiences would they be? If your speaking in terms of the SWI-X products then I would have to agree, theyre crap plain and simple. If in terms of the SWI-ECL/ALP/etc...then I would have to disagree and write it off to installer error as they have worked nothing short of OEM quality.

I second the carpc comment. So many options with it and sooo flexible. If I feel the need for something new, then all I need to do is update the software.

I know this is a little off topic, but i haven't been able to get answer anywhere online. I have a Pioneer AVIC-N2 (i got a really good deal on it, thats why i got it instead of the N3. from what i understand they're basically the same unit with newer software for the N3) anyway i have an 04 maxima and want to know if it's a custom install or if i can get the single Din adapter and put it in myself? Every place I've called wants to charge anywhere from $250 or more.

Yes I agree that the car pc is the best route, so many options and plenty of uses.
