Nice install. How'd you secure the amps under the seats? Did you put a board under the carpet? I had a tough time getting screws through the carpet and when they were finally in, they seemed secure enough without need for a board.

I had some industrial grade double sided tape I used. So far it's holding. If someone wanted to take the amps, they could get the 2100 out. They will not be able to get the 4150 out without taking the seat out . I thought about using screws to install them. I had done the same with my 4th gen (I also had a hard time with the screws through the carpet), but with a processor and a changer under there. The only thing is that I sometimes go down to Mexico, and when it rains down there you get some good flooded streets. I always worried about water coming in. I did seal the area around the screws with silicone, but hearing and feeling that water under the car was not very reassuring. I try to avoid those situations, but at times you really can't . I will leave them as they are.

I will be rotating it soon. In the 4th Gen the box was sideways so the letters were upright then . I am doing a variation of your install with the sub there . I will use a mini version of your board under the sub. Thanks for the idea and the pictures on your spare tire board thread .

At first I wanted something with a darker interior, but I liked the color combination on it. That and the car was in great shape. No dings on it at all...... till last week . It's barely noticeable, but still not cool.

Now all I need to do is a little more sound deadening and I should be set. I will do this after I get back from Ecuador, in about a week and half.

Wtf thread hijack?

Yes that is the GXE kit for a 5th gen. You will need a pocket to fill in the second din if you have a single din HU. You get either get a 5th gen pocket, or a 4th gen pocket with a door.

I did not mean to hijack the thread but he mentioned the 4th gen gxe kit above in a previuos post so thats why I brought this up. I also posted a thread below about IB or a box and it got about 7 replys. My hope was you, manny, metalmaxima, semy2k2go, and others I consider audio gods to respond but that didn't happen. I personally pm/emailed you about a week ago and got no response for audio advice.

very nice setup man!!
i would be wary of people kicking/stepping on the amps unless you're really tall. =P Very clean setup overall..and yes....that board to support the subwoofer works VERY WELL. I think it was DON that pioneered that one...which nilesh stole the idea from.

I had no idea Don even made something similar until now. I just created it one day from scratch.

edit: If you're talking about the subwoofer platform that spans the spare tire well, yea, that's all Don.

I will lace the outside of it with some poison or something from some South American frog after my trip down there . If you really want it though....... I will trade it for your 4150 , just to help you out. Plus I will take off the poison covering on it .

mhhhhhhhh, matching pair .
