SPL or SQL???

Okay, so this is my newst project, picked it up a couple nights ago. I have plenty equipment to make this an SPL truck without having to spend alot of money doing it. BUT.........i would really like to have a combo truck, SPL/SQ. if i go that route i will be running ZAPCO,s Comp amps for sure! As far as subs go i won a Kicker solobaric X12, so if i have to use it i will but i much rather sell it. I will be running rainbows....PERIOD up front, to me there is no other options. Please provide any input, i have never built an SPL/SQ vehicle so i am open to options.

Thank YOU,

Chef

a little low for my taste, but the truck was nicely done. Id vote to sell the sub as well... maybe get some of the new Fi's? the BTL's or something? anything, just as long as its powerful, but also has some sort of sound quality. not a kicker tho, theres just somehting about mixing kicker in the same car as rainbow..

you gonna make a wall? with like 4 subs (12s, 15s, or whichever) or just a huge ported box or something?

Yeah it does sit a little low, not my taste either but having airbags thats fixed easily. I would love to sell the sub, like i said i won it at the last show i was at and it was free. Idealy there will be a wall, not just full of subs but amps and periphals as well. I just want it tastfully done and i will spare no expense to get it that way. I already have a carputer built for it and will most likely be installed in a few days. That will be my main source, its somthing i wanted to so in my max but here i am too close to world finals and i really dont want to switch anything else up.
I think we will use 12's, for sure ported, but i need a sub that is both loud and accurate. Is there such a thing???..LOL! I know that there is but trying to please the best of both worlds will be a challenge.

Thanks for your input!,

someones got some Diamond audio TDXs around here somewhere, i thought it was filtor, or djfrestyl, theyre pretty loud and accurate. unless you want to go with something brand new.. just trying to keep the cost down! them or flatlines maybe?

whatever you end up doing, take lots of pics, everyone loves pictures of projects..

eh, as much as i love arc audio, the flatline sounds super clean, but wasn't one of the louder subs i've heard IMO.

i would opt for quad TC-3000 12s in a wall, ported and have that sucker tuned low with several kilowatts sent to them...

No, Bob = Zapco pusher..

He literally goes directly to competitors at shows and offers them on the spot 'deals'. He is of course anti Arc. Yes I do loathe his methods. Although if your a Zapco competitor in IASCA you would do quite well with all the biased BS.

Bob has never swayed me in any certain direction, just the same as doing business with you. Please do not mix up my Maximas system with the truck. I simply bought product from Bob the same as i do and hopefully will continue to do with you. If Flatlines are the way to go then we will decide upon that when the time comes. I am being told that it would be hard to do a SPL/SQ vehicle at the same time, so........you knowing me Don i am going to do what it takes to make it happen, unless its just physically impossiable, which i highly doubt it is.

I just dont want to be like everyone else, i want to do somthing different, and like i said if flatlines are decided upon i know where i can find them.
Bob is a good business person the same as you Don, i will do business with both of the companies because i know what i like.

I hope things are going well for you Don, and i hope to have the oppritunity to do more business with you in the near future.

Greg, the statement wasnt directed towards you or your dealings with him in any way. I know how he works. My feelings of him have been and will remain unhidden. If you had a good experience with him, thats great. But his tastics are less than desirable and borderline morally wrong.

I am sorry you feel that way Don. But i know you and if you have those feelings then i respect that. I didnt think it was directed toward me in any way so no hard feelings. Its a small world in your profession.

My vote would be SQL I think you would be happier with that type of set up.
