Your audiobahn amp DEF did not kill it... You need to get it to the dealer to get it fixed, no driving it as it will just shut down on you and possibly cause a fire if you continue to drive on it. Did you call the dealer like i recomended?

A8000V or A8000T? I have the A8000T, 1ch. IMHO, they SUCK! but, I got mine cheap...

My alt seems to be going out after a few weeks of having my Audiobahn amp in the car also. I have been pushing the crap out of it though, running 2ohm really loud for long periods of time pushing 2 Earthquake DBX12's, sometimes it shuts off but for the price I got it for I don't care. I just wanna see how had I can push it b4 it goes, really though it would have went out by now, but im thinkin it killed the alt 1st!!! maybe it's better than I thought...

i'm running a lot more than 800 rms, and my alternator is fine. if your alternator is healthy, it should be able to support 800 watts.

I called and they said it wasnt in the time frame.

The Audiobahn A8000v and A8000t are pretty good amps for audiobahn they bench test at 832 watts.

I 'm thinking this alternator has just seen better days

I bought a 125 amp Duralast for 160.99 w/ a lifetime warrranty ( stock is only 110) I'm also going to run an yellow top

MadMaxSE-L make sure your ohm are right and you can only run at 2 ohms also I had 2 and neither ever turned off.. Also what size pwr wire were you running?

the amps are ok, I am just used to running older Orion cheater amps and these are no comparrison, but they're ok i guess. power wire size is 6/8ga, 4ga. wouldn't fit IIRC and yeah, my ohms are right (2)- 4ohm subs wired in paralell=2ohm. I think im gonna do 1/0ga to the trunk/distrobution block/4ga/amp and see if that cures my delema

Another reason I think im not hittin as loud is b/c my Earthquake DBXR-12's were in a vented box designed for 2 W7's... but im in the process of fixing that too

I've gone through 3 of them before I bought a 220-250 Amp Alternator.

maybe I didn't try hard enough...

by the way, the "master tech" up at Advance Discount Auto today that did my alternator/battery test said that its my Optima Yellow Top batt that is the problem. they did the test and it showed "BAD BATTERY"-even after I let it sit on charge all afternoon... so, I come home, take the my other Optima Yellow Top batt that I have in my 79' Bronco out(bought them both at he same time, and put it in my MAX... everythink works, no dimming lights/hard starting/etc-and this battery has been sitting in my truck in the garage for about 6 months w/o any charging at all. The only thing I can think of that killed it is I have completly discharged the problem battery about 3-5 times by leaving my lights on in my MAX, or I I am trying to find out if there is a special charging procedure for these things and I killed it that way...
