Amplifier recommendations

I currently have a alpine mrd-f540 (50x4) amp that will not fit under my seat and would like to know what the best amp (under $300) would be to run some rainbow slc265 component that would fit under the seat of a 1999 Max. Also, is it better to use the speaker crossovers with a two channel amp or is it best to use a four channel amp with good crossover capabilities (not using the component crossovers) to run the components?
The alpine is 16.5" long which is just a little two big to fit under the seat. Anything smaller than this would work. I don't want to put any amplifiers in the trunk. I need all the room I can get.
I'm also looking for a good mono amp to run a 12" shiva or 12" tc-1000 in a sealed 1.5 ft enclosure. Any and all recommendations are welcome.
Thanks.

off the top of my head the only amps with a crossover thats capable of not using the intenal amplifier crossover is the jl 300/4. Unless you have a pretty highend amp i would say just use the crossovers

so now i dont know

btw if you're reading this Don, as of right now i am still planning on buying it, however. worse comes to worse ill throw it in the trunk.

Why would you say that? Why not get your boss to become a dealer, then get accomodation pricing?

Its just a phone call away....

Well, I plan on powering only the fronts with the amp. What is the benifit of a four channel amp verses a two channel amp? I'm going to use the head unit to power some rear coaxials for fill. Under the other seat I will put a mono subwoofer amp powering one 12" tc-1000.
Any recommendations on small but powerful sub amps?
So I guess the real question is: Two channel or four channel for my fronts.
Thanks again.

You only need two channels to run the front. Although a bridged 4 channel could give more output seperation issues could come into to play unless its a biamped or active set..

Match up with a DLS RA10

::sigh::

ive tried. he kinda shrugs at the idea, almost takes it as an insult, kinda like he's "incapable of getting lines on his own", or something so it seems.

No...rep as in manufacturer rep. All manufacturers have a rep as in someone that keeps you up to date, provides literature, current pricing,etc..Although most are lazy and dont do shit.

BTW..Im your rep.

oh, yeah we have an Alpine one, and thats it, the rest kinda blow us off. Alpine actually takes care of us cus we sell more alpine than any other store in RI, not that thats a huge accomplishment, our state is tiny..

alot of the stuff you have is just speaker/amp lines.. like arc/dls/rainbow/alumapro/diamond etc..

down the road when we need stuff like that ill be sure to bring you up again. ..reccomend some good ****... sick of walking in every day and looking at kicker...

Just so you know..your in my territory for:

Arc
Rainbow
DLS
Cascade
Morel
Dynaudio
Genesis
Tru Technology

If you knew all the details, well actually if your boss did, I bet I could convince him on a line within 10 minutes.
