I got up at 3:30, got to BestBuy at 3:50 and there were 300-400 people outside, Circuit City had about 200-300. My friend and my sister stayed at the front of the store, while my cousin and I walked to the end of the line. He called me when they opened, and he said they(the employees) did like a chant in a big circle, then the guy was like 'Ok Im opneing it!' and they went crazy. Oh, and it was quite organized, but I didnt get everything I wanted(missed the 17" monitor for $90 and the CSI season three for $20...stupid people who were there at 11 pm last night!!). We were outa best buy by 5:30, to Sports authority. Anyone else have as much fun as I did?? Haha!

I got my vid card(7600GT PCIX, ordered it online though, store = too crowded, and I can guarrantee it was sold out, my friend got his camera (Digital Rebel SLR XTI), My sister got her mp3 player and my cousin got what he needed. We were home by around 7 am.

Oh, and is normal to pay $1043 in cash? 5 benjamins, 4 50s, and the rest 20s and smaller? I swear we were counting money for 5 minutes with that guy.

Wow long post...sorry.

I seriously wonder what made 3/4 of the line think they had a chance at anything

LMAO, for $1699 + tax...Ill pass even if it wasnt a line. Its not a 'bad' price, but I do have other methods of obtaining what I want for the right price.

Theres not too many around here dedicated to cameras. She just told me... "I want something for closeups." Unfortunately her Birthday is next Saturday, so I need to move on this.

Actually alot of people camped out here starting at about 4pm yesterday. Our local BB had literally a mob when tickets got passed out..tons of cops and ambulances and several arrests.

well, then i think she'll be happy with this lens.

http://www.adorama.com/CA28135ISU.ht...-135&item_no=5

i have the same one, and use it all the time. has a decent amount of zoom to it, and has image stabilizer to help clean up some small hand movements. the USM focusing motor is quick and quiet. it's not the super high end, but meh...it works fine for me and doesn't break the bank.

sample:

ahh nice pics. I think what shes referring to is closeups of the kids. All their new facial expressions and such. Basically she wants a detailed view of them, but without gettin in their face.

Got time to speak on the phone for a few? PM me your number again, its most likely buried under a stack of stickies.
