Hey guys,
I have run into a major obstacle while trying to install some new speakers in the rear deck of a 95 Maxima. I know that you have to remove the rear seats to be able to do the install. Now, I took off the part of the seat you sit on, but I am having the hardest time taking the part that your back lays on off. I know there are three places the seat is connected, and I got the outside parts off, but the middle I cannot take off for the life of me. I even got my dad to help me and the both of us cannot get the middle part to unclip. Is there some type of latch or release mechanism to get the middle clip loose??? any suggestions would really really help me right now.

Thanks,
SAchin

there are 4 bolts total that hold the seat back on. One on each end and 2 in the middle right below the access hole. Once they are all 4 out, the seat back just lifts right out. Once thats out, to pull the deck cover off, you have to remove the plasic covers over the rear pillars where the seat belts run into. They just snap off, and take a bit of pulling to do so, but be careful on how you pull, or you could crack or break them.

are they suppose to be bolts??? i took out 2 bolts (nearest the doors) and two screws in the ski-hole area....but the darn thing is still impossible to take out. any other suggestions?? the middle clip is what's keeping me from unhooking the seat.

thanks

I think you have the bolts and screws removed. There are three hanger type brackets that the seat sort of hangs on. To remove it from those brackets you have to pull the seat back vertically up at least 3-4". If it doesn't bulgr, try to pull the top of the seat back away from the back of the car. Maybe those brackets are holding it really well. Then try to pull it up again.

Good luck
