Well,,, I have been into stereo's & Bass for awhile....
and a couple years back i wanted to do it for a living, so I did research and unless you have a stereo shop in your area that will train you and hire you as an apprentice installer, you will need to go to a tech school to teach you how and get you certified w/ MECP (mobile electronics certification program) iwould not recommend anyone get thier stereo's and alarms put in by someone who doesn't really know what they are doing. I think Good Guys mite have a trainig program. Oh yeah, the tests aren't very easy at all!

I'm not a "professional" installer, but I've crammed enough stuff in enough cars that I might as well become one..
I've never had time to mess with MECP, but would like to do it one summer..
I plan on being around car/home audio as a career (designing and building the stuff as an engineer, not installer).. Sooo, the more I know about it now, the better off I'll be.
I lnow several guys that sell audio stuff on the board, but don't know of any professional installers. Also, I'm the only one I know of that competes in IASCA.
I'll be at finals Next weekend if anyone else is coming!

, My little Sentra will be there eventually!
Not a professional installer, but I've designed and installed alot of stereos, alarms, etc...and I have a degree in Electrical engineering.
But the funny thing is, you learn some new tricks everyday...
I'm currently working on a custom alarm for my Maxima...hehehe....top secret
