speaker install in 2000 gxe
does anyone have some photos of a speaker install in a 2000 maxima without the bose? the link on the how to guide is old and not showing up. i just bought some some Boston acoustic sl65 6.5 speakers for my rears. while i am at it what do you guys think about those speakers?
the guy at hifibuys says they wont fit in my car correctly but i am destine to make them fit and need your guys help in making them fit. the guy there said they wont fit because they are smaller than average 6.5's so do i need the black rings shown in the picture to make the speaker properly fit in the hole? because they did not come with the speakers. if so what are they called and where do you think i can get some? or do you think these will fit just fine? keep in mind they have three tabs where you screw the speaker into the door..let me know what yall think

they will fit either use the mdf templates to mount your new speakers to or you can do what i did in my 3rd gen i cut a larger diameter for my 6.5 audio bahn speakers and then just screwd them down. used the bose baffel all good. i have seen a link in the forum, about what we are speaking about will see if i can find

i pulled the door panel off today and i looked at the wires and they looked fairly small and cheap keep in mind i got the non-bose 2000 gxe with the 6 speaker upgraded stereo...but i dont wanna put in new speakers on the stock wires and have them not sound good or not get all the power to them....should i rewire my speakers or is it not worth the hassle? or do you think the stock wires are thick enough and i shouldn't worry about them not being able carry the power? i was planing on getting a head unit that sends 50 watts to each speaker...and maybe an amp to put 60-75 watts to each of the front components
what do you guys think?

Some people can't tell the difference. Some people do it for peace of mind or "might as well" since they're upgrading everything else. If you're running a speaker of a HU, there is NO use to do it. If you're amping them, typically it's a good idea to run new wire. But, you can get away with not. It's a matter of preference.

well i finally got done putting in components in the front, it was a 2 day disaster ....can anyone direct me to a wiring schematic for the front speakers to a 2000 gxe non bose system? i tried to rewire but found there was a big plug connecting the gasket to the inside of the door...so i decided to cut into the wires inside the car and hook my crossovers up there. so on the driver side front speaker it had blue with red and blue with white wires...so i thought itd be the same wire on the inside of the car, so i cut into the blue and red on the inside and the wire definitely changes color i had the side mirror wire hooked into the crossover hopefully i didnt mess it up i think i found that inside the car the correct wire is the blue/yellow and blue/white...but the driver side speaker doesnt sound as loud as the passenger side ....
